■Course Outline

At the Yokohama YMCA College Department of Japanese Language, we have courses for students from abroad (student VISA) and for students living in Japan (other VISA) respectively. We open registration in April and October, and each applicant will take an entrance examination before taking lesson in their respective level (class).
There are two courses; “Japanese One Year Course” and “Japanese and Culture Course”. Both are one year course, but “Japanese and Culture Course” is for students who finished the “Japanese One Year Course”.

■Japanese One Year Course


There are two entrance periods, April and October, and according to the result of the respective entrance exam, there students will study classes with different levels. Levels for “Japanese One Year Course” is from 0 to Intermediate I. In the first term (April to September), we have special events such as a Welcome Party, an Overnight Training at Fuji-san YMCA, and a Sports Day. Also, there will be a term-end exam in September. In the second term (October to March), we have a Welcome Bowling, a Charity bazaar, a Christmas Party, and a Japanese Recital. There will be a term-end exam in March.

■Japanese and Culture Course

There are two entrance periods, April and October. This course is for students who finished the “Japanese One Year Course” and wish to continue study Japanese. Levels are from Intermediate I to Advanced. In the first term (April to September), we have special events such as a Welcome Party, an Overnight Training at Fuji-san YMCA, and a Sports Day.
